Watchmen

One of the most anticipated (for us nerds anyway) movies of 2009 is the screen adaption of the 1986/87 DC Comics classic, Watchmen. Originally a 12 part comic series created by English writer Alan Moore (also famous for V for Vendetta), and artist John Gibbons, the live-action film is due for US theatrical release in March. The new movie will be directed by Zack Snyder (300), who used the comics as a storyboard.

Trailers have been circulating for over 6 months now, amongst devotees and Watchmen newbies alike, no doubt sparking fresh interest in the original perennially popular comic book series.

I realise there are newer, longer and more revealing teasers around, however my favourite is still the first official trailer release, featuring the music of the Smashing Pumpkins.  It has the best hook of the lot IMHO.
